When Time Stands Still… A Poem

When Time Stands Still… A Poem

by Coach Kenyatte

 children are blessings

Time stands still when I drop my children off at school,

and that moment comes as I pray blessings over them and watch as they walk in.

Time stands still when they are playing,

and I watch admiring how they’ve grown and are developing so nicely.

Time stands still when they are active,

and I grab them, to steal a long hug, holding them close and whispering, “I love you so much”.

Time stands still as I watch them converse,

and they engage each other in meaningful, bond strengthening conversation.

Time stands still as I the house falls quiet,

and each person, doing their chores, learns that these tasks are the necessities of life.

Time stands still as I show them my grind,

and I explain to them why I work at it consistently, so they can have the keys to a satisfying life.

Time stands still when I appreciate all God has provided me with, in my children.

Yes, time stands still.

“Set your goals big enough that you enjoy the process of reaching them. Set your goals far enough that it takes you many new places, experiencing many new things while achieving them.” ~ Coach Kenyatte

“A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear [that results] from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl.” —Stephan Hoeller

“The healthy being craves an occasional wildness, a jolt from normalty, a sharpening of the edge of appetite, his own little festival… a brief excursion from his way of life.” – Robert MacIver

Confidence in Prayer…

Confidence in Prayer

As I read through this poem it smacked me in the face with how prayer truly works. God always answers our prayers, it just, oftentimes, is not in the form that WE would deem acceptable or understandable.

What I have learned is that when you pray, you keep your mind and eyes open for “ALL” answers, so as not to miss any of your blessings. I’ve coached and spoken with many who stated, specifically, that they did not receive an answer to their prayers and they felt as though God was ignoring them. As I listened to their story, I was happy to show them how God not only was listening, actively, but He was indeed answering, repeatedly. The cause of their dismay was from life getting in the way, ie. distractions, or not understanding/misinterpreting the answer, or just flat out refusing the answer all together (because it was not the answer YOU wanted). Trust God, be open and receptive to HIS words and you will be in direct receipt of more than you could ever pray for. This is an expansive topic, so I will speak more on it later, check back to soon.

So, what about you? What did you think of the poem? I welcome your thoughts, comments, and posts!

Be Blessed!
